Questions

Answers about pricing, shipping, and what happens to your tapes.

Pricing and deals

How much does it cost?

$25 per tape, whatever its length. Orders of 10 or more tapes get a lower price on every tape: $22 each for 10–24 tapes, $20 each for 25–49, and $18 each for 50 or more.

Do VHS and VHS-C tapes both count toward a bulk deal?

Yes. We count every tape in your order together, so VHS and VHS-C tapes add up toward the same deal.

What's included in the price?

Hand digitizing in real time, picture and color cleanup, digital files sent free to your email and your account, and return shipping for your original tapes. A flash drive, a DVD, and a prepaid shipping label are optional extras.

What if I send a different number of tapes than I ordered?

We count every tape when your box arrives. If you sent fewer, we refund the difference. If you sent more, we email you a payment link for the extras before we start.

Shipping your tapes

How does the prepaid label work?

Choose the prepaid label at checkout. As soon as your payment goes through, the label is generated and emailed to you as a PDF. Print it, attach it to your box, and drop it off with the carrier.

How should I pack my tapes?

Use a sturdy box with padding so the tapes can't slide around. Put them in a sealed plastic bag in case of rain, and include a note with your name and email.

Your videos

How long does it take?

Most orders are finished within 2–3 weeks of the day your tapes arrive. We email you when your box arrives and again when your videos are ready.

What file format will I get?

MP4 files, which play on phones, computers, and smart TVs, and can be uploaded to Google Photos, iCloud, or YouTube.

How do I get my videos?

For free, by email and in your account on our website. If you'd like a physical copy too, you can add a flash drive or a DVD with all of your videos for an extra charge. We recommend also saving your videos to your computer or a service like Google Photos or iCloud.

What kinds of tapes do you digitize?

VHS and VHS-C tapes. VHS-C are the smaller tapes used in many camcorders, and you can send them without an adapter.

What if a tape is damaged or moldy?

Most damaged tapes can be repaired. If a tape needs repair, we'll email you a quote before doing any work, and we never charge for repairs you didn't approve.

Can you digitize movies I bought in a store?

No. We only digitize personal recordings like home movies, school events, and family gatherings. Store-bought movies are protected by copyright.
